About this art work.
At first glance, a baobab tree looks as if it has been planted upside-down. There is actually an ancient, cautionary tale explaining how that happened: The first baobab grew next to a small lake. One day it saw its reflection: a huge fat trunk that looked like the wrinkled hide of an old elephant. The baobab complained bitterly to the Creator. Exasperated with the moaning of the baobab and determined to silence the baobab forever, he yanked it out of the earth, and replanted it upside down.
